  • Former home of Dennis & Blodwyn Vaughan – both full of strength and character. The first of four generation of Vaughans to farm on Tregoyd.

Pen-y-Cwm is also full of strength and character. Perched on a geological shoulder and with sigh worthy views of the valley, Hay Bluff and The Knob – the cottage has that sense of refuge. Here you can enjoy the weather good or bad, sunsets and sunrises in their full glory and witness brutal storms rolling of the hills. These hills surely harbor mighty spirits.

  • Pen-y-Cwm is as suitable for solo visits as it is for 6 adults. Three double rooms. Double bedroom and shower room on the ground floor and two doubles with a bathroom upstairs.

The access is off the Pen-yr-heol Chapel lane and then at the end of its own stoney track. No immediate neighbours but within a 3 minute stroll down the field to Blaen-y-Cwm, our other magical hideaway.

The cottage is in essence two up and one down affair with a stone stable, now the larger ground floor bedroom and a wrinkly tin barn attached. The barn shelters the terrace and is the playroom where the firewood and tennis table live.

A small flagged terrace at the front or South Westerly side and a timber deck with wood fired hot tub hang off the kitchen and tin barn on the north easterly side.

The original farm track wraps the building – this is now not suitable for motorised vehicles.
